Tanya Alijani is a sound healer, breathwork and meditation facilitator and teacher based in Melbourne, and the founder of the RIISE Method®. She brings together sound, breath, nervous system education and embodied spiritual practice to support regulation, self awareness and inner change. Her work draws on more than 15 years of personal practice and 7 years of professional facilitation.
Tanya was born in Iran and moved to Melbourne at the age of six. She describes moving through anxiety, depression and emotional isolation in her adolescence and early adulthood, and says meditation changed her life as a lived experience: it changed how she related to her body, her mind and her emotions. From there she completed formal training with teachers and schools around the world in sound healing, breathwork, meditation, Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Himalayan Kriya and embodied spiritual practice.
The RIISE Method® is a frequency based approach to nervous system regulation through sound healing, breathwork, meditation and somatic practice. Its steps are Rest, Illumination, Intention, Sound and more, and it grew out of her own lived experience, training and facilitation. Tanya does not believe people need fixing. She believes they need spaces where the body feels safe enough to soften, listen and return to itself.
Tanya has guided thousands of people through sound healing, breath and meditation. She facilitates for events, retreats, corporate wellbeing, brand activations and private gatherings, and has worked with clients including Goop, Forbes, Swisse, RATIONALE and NAB. She also teaches an accredited Sound Healer training, recognised by Yoga Alliance and ISTA, for people who want to facilitate sound healing with depth and integrity.
Worth Knowing
Tanya Alijani is a Melbourne-based sound healer, breathwork facilitator and meditation teacher, and the founder of the RIISE Method®, a frequency-based approach to nervous system regulation. She was born in Iran and moved to Melbourne at the age of six, and her work is shaped by a personal history she describes openly: anxiety, depression and emotional isolation in adolescence and early adulthood, followed by meditation that changed how she related to her body, mind and emotions. That origin matters because her approach treats practice as lived experience rather than theory, drawing on more than 15 years of personal practice and seven years of professional facilitation. Her work sits where sound healing, breathwork and somatic practice meet, with an emphasis on nervous system education so that students understand why a session affects them. People follow her for that combination of clear explanation and unhurried, embodied facilitation. She has guided thousands of people through sound, breath and meditation across events, retreats, corporate wellbeing work and private gatherings. The clearest way to judge her is to attend a session, because the method is experiential and does not translate well into summary.
